Except for the bright colors and more recent appliances, the kitchen is much as it was in the late 1930's.  The first kitchen was used for cooking and storing food.  The large wood stove is still used in the winter, especially for Thanksgiving turkey.
In the second kitchen, used exclusively to wash and store dishes and cooking ware, is a bell ringer used to call servants.
