Moori tips got their first nationwide exposure  @ the Ted Harris Cue Repair booth during the WPA World 9-ball Championships in October of 1994.  Joe Gold, of Cognoscenti had been putting them on his cues for a couple of weeks, and told me they were awesome.  Needless to say, I had 30 of the moori's next day aired in and brought them to my booth.  Within minutes, the interest in moori's had sparked a frenzy, and I was sold out.  It is pretty safe to say that every one of the professionals and spectators alike that participated in the World Championships there who got them loved the performance that accompanied a moori.  The following weekend, I installed over 50 of the moori's.  These actions and the fervor that followed prompted many other companies to then manufacture a layered tip, as they realized the increased consistency that could be gained by players using a layered tip.  Even with numerous companies now offering a layered tip (most for less money than a Moori) the tip of choice and still the most sought after for it's consistency and superior quality is still Moori.
